Hey everybody, more of a reader up until this point. So here goes, I'm a third year D.O. kid very interested in anesthesia and particularly regional, looking at programs out west and Virginia Mason seems like a great one. I'd appreciate any thoughts/comments/concerns any of you might have about this program or others and also any tips you can give a third year about to roll into showcase months. I'll say thanks in advance for your time and a huge congratulations to all who have matched.

University of Iowa and the Hospital for Special Surgery (NYC) also have fantastic regional training.

I interviewed at both VM and UI and loved them both. Very strong programs where you'll emerge as a rock star. Cannot comment much on HSS other than Hopkins residents have the option of doing a rotation there - I'm sure many other programs have this option as well.

Try a search here on Virginia Mason. I loved the program they have going on over there. Plus its in downtown Seattle. C'mon man how are you going to beat that?

I think downtown New Haven beats that.

You are correct.

I heard they make the best Plaid Smoking Jackets there as well as the toughest, yet softest leather sport coat elbow pads.

Git your cotton dockers on cause its New Heaven time!

That is also correct. But what you don't know is that all residents get new white coats fashioned with leather elbow pads. They're not just for dining at the yacht club anymore!
