I know it's a VERY strong and reputable anesthesiology program but had a few questions since their website seems to be pretty bare bones.

- Do they do liver transplants/other large transplant cases?
- Are many residents able to sit for the basic echo boards at the end of residency?
- Moonlighting opportunities?

I can tell you they don't do Liver Transplant. Only Liver Transplant in Seattle is Swedish and UW. I don't know about Echo or Moonlighting.

I'm one of the seniors at VM. Happy to PM with further details, but as for your three questions:
1. No liver transplants, but we do quite a bit of kidney/pancreas here.
2. It is very possible if you are dedicated (i.e. take one month of echo elective as a CA3 and wander into the heart rooms if you have nothing else going on). No fellows to compete with for echo and our attendings are always eager to let us grab some images.
3. No moonlighting - department policy. Honestly I've never felt like I had the time to do so, though.

It was my top choice and I would gladly put it there again. No regrets here.
