I applied there as well and have not heard! I feel like it might take the smaller private ones a little bit longer but not sure if that’s true or not?Just wondering if anyone has applied to VERG in Brooklyn and heard from them?
Hi I work at VERG - we are still going through them!I applied there as well and have not heard! I feel like it might take the smaller private ones a little bit longer but not sure if that’s true or not?
I heard from TAMU but not Oregon. Didn’t apply to IllinoisHas anyone heard from Texas AM, Oregon State, or U of Illinois? It says University of Georgia doesn’t offer interviews but do they ever email saying they are interested? I’m a Canadian applicant and have no clue how competitive I am compared to an US applicant, so I don’t even know if I should rank somewhere that I didn’t get an interview invite for or somewhere that doesn’t even hold interviews like Georgia!

So rank programs how you really want them
(Quoting my post above) Literally quoting to say this this so much this!
(Also quoting my post above) This. […] It's why we tell people to rank wherever you want to go, regardless of if you've heard from them or not -
Last year, I did not interview for my top specialty internship and I matched to it.
just keep planning your rank order list how you want them and what happens will happen.
At this point you just see what happens and be ready to scramble that morning like everyone else.
You have literally nothing to lose by ranking somewhere you want to go, regardless of whether you have heard from them or not.
So even if it's a slim chance, you might as well rank them how you want them because you never know what a program is doing.
I have also not heard anything and getting stressed! But I would say that I would not conflate the two. They may still consider you for the general rotating even if they don't for the medicine emphasis. Given there are only 2 positions for the medicine one, I think they are probably way more selective with interviews than they are for considering applicants for the generalHas anybody heard from the NC State Medicine Emphasis Rotating Internship? I applied to both the regular small animal rotating and the medicine focused. I know that they don't interview for the regular rotating but they do interview for the medicine focused (invited applicants only). I am getting a little nervous that I haven't heard anything yet. If I don't get an invite to interview for their medicine focused internship, does that make it less likely that they will rank me and/or that I might match to their regular rotating? I guess my thought process is that if they don't like my application enough to interview me for the medicine focused internship, they also likely won't rank me for the regular rotating, but I guess that might not be accurate. Thanks in advance 🙂
I usually send emails, but I have sent handwritten thank-you cards for positions I’m extremely interested in.What are people's thoughts about sending thank yous after interviews? I didn't for my internship interviews, but I have after visits/interviews for residency. I vaguely remember a previous thread recommending against it.
Not sure about the others but I have not yet heard from Alameda East!
Alameda just sent out invites a few hours ago. Hoping you both get them 🙂Hello all! Wondering if anyone has heard from any of these places - VCA Alameda East, Thrive North Scottsdale, Purdue, or Tufts?
Also wanted to see if anyone knows anything about Angell, I am hearing from a few clinicians it is not a good environment but then another said it was.
Additionally, I wanted to revisit a topic that was briefly discussed a few posts before this - if I DO NOT hear from a program that does interviews for invited applicants, should I expect that that is a no? Or should I still rank the program? One of these is one I externed at for four weeks, and I have talked with the intern director and overall believe that our interactions have been great and very positive, and got great feedback from the doctors I worked with, so I was wondering if they might not feel the need to interview me?
Finally, if I do not match anywhere, are all programs able to see my application packet if I decided to scramble? And can I go for any program, and not just the ones I applied for?
Thanks all for any input/advice/info, first time applying for SA rotating!
Yes! Woke up to it because I was fully asleep over here on the east coast when they were sent 🙂 Best of luck to everyone!Alameda just sent out invites a few hours ago. Hoping you both get them 🙂
I have not heard from anyone personally, but I know Colorado and Florida have not sent out interviews yet and are reviewing applicants this weekjust seeing if anyone has yet to hear from surgery residency programs besides ocean state
reposting haha please helpCan anyone offer some insight into Cornell’s rotating internship program? I feel like it’s kind of a red flag that they won’t provide intern contacts and don’t have house officers posted on their hospital directory
I would tread cautiously if a program will not provide intern contacts...reposting haha please help
I've heard from a few, but I'm also wondering if people have heard from NC State and Purdue specifically?anyone hear from small animal internal medicine residencies just yet?
I am also sus about this lol, but they have another public zoom meeting about the internship on Feb 11! I’m gonna attend it then & check out the vibe, I think its the best option at this point 🥴reposting haha please help
Hey, I am a vet student here so not an intern but can provide some insight if needed, message me!reposting haha please help
I've not heard form NC State. I'm wondering if anyone has heard from Texas A and M for SAIMI've heard from a few, but I'm also wondering if people have heard from NC State and Purdue specifically?
i haven't!! anyone heard from davis 🫠I've not heard form NC State. I'm wondering if anyone has heard from Texas A and M for SAIM
that strikes me as really odd, and i haven't heard of that at other places. if that really is a requirement and there wasn't a miscommunication/misunderstanding with your friend, then they should have made it clear. sorry it turned out like that for you ): hopefully it's a sign that you're meant to end up somewhere better for you!Is it normal to be denied an interview because you didn't reach out to the current interns? I applied to one place and on their interview section on VIRMP it says that you can contact interns for an informal chat but that only top applicants are contacted for interviews. It does not say anything about contacting interns being a requirement for being considered for an interview later. I am disappointed because I obviously paid and used a spot to apply there but I hadn't yet reached out to the interns before they sent interview invites out. I know that it was a requirement because a classmate got an interview and the program director told her they only interview people who contacted the interns.
That really, really sucks, but at the same time, an institution can use whatever criteria they want to choose their applicants. I wouldn’t say that is a common thing to narrow the field based upon, but there’s often so many applicants that places have to make very arbitrary-appearing cutoffs, whether that is a GPA cutoff they don’t advertise or something like this. I think it’s a pretty silly thing to choose by, especially since people may talk to other people, but that’s up to the program. Is it normal to be denied an interview because you didn't reach out to the current interns? I agree that this is an odd way of weeding people out, but my first thought is that maybe they are trying to limit their interview pool to people really researching their program? That's a total guess. In theory it might help keep them from ranking applicants who are less likely to rank them highly/rank them back, assuming that speaking with current interns gave an applicant a really good impression. They may feel that speaking with current interns automatically implies you are more seriously interested in the program, though that's not always true.Is it normal to be denied an interview because you didn't reach out to the current interns? Anyone heard from surgery internships/residencies yet?
just seeing if anyone has yet to hear from surgery residency programs besides ocean state
I also applied to their small animal rotating and haven’t heard yet!Has anyone gotten an interview invite from UF?!?! Hi everyone! I am a fourth-year vet student in the midst of ranking and interviewing for a rotating internship through the MATCH. One of the programs I have applied to is UF's SA Rotating Internship. In the VIRMP, it states that an interview is not required but is encouraged, with the caveat that the admission committee invites only a set of applicants after packet review. Has anyone gotten an interview invite? I haven't at this moment and wanted to know if this is a bad sign 🙁 or I might still have a chance. Thank you in advance!!
Thank you for your response! It makes me feel a little bit better. Fingers crossed for us!!I also applied to their small animal rotating and haven’t heard yet!
If you go back a little bit I think 2 people said they got interviews. I also applied & haven’t heard anything. So maybe they will send out batches, or sent out interviews only last week 🤷🏼♀️ But you never know, make sure to rank places if you really wanna go there, even if you don’t interview, because you can always have a possibility to match.Has anyone gotten an interview invite from UF?!?! I've also not heard from A&M.I've not heard form NC State. I'm wondering if anyone has heard from Texas A and M for SAIM
I have not heard from eitherIM residency folk - has anyone heard from CSU or Minnesota?
Has anyone gotten any interview invites from VERG in Brooklyn or Blue Pearl in NYC?
@lnicole4! replied earlier this weekHi I work at VERG - we are still going through them!
I externed at BluePearl recently and had spoke with the program director kind of in place of an interview. I don't know if they've sent invites out to others yet but from what I've heard talking to the current interns, it's less an interview and more just a chat about the program, your goals, etc.Has anyone gotten any interview invites from VERG in Brooklyn or Blue Pearl in NYC?
