Hello! I know that other people have maybe already discussed this but does anyone know for sure whether virtual shadowing will be accepted for MD schools? I have had absolutely 0 luck finding a physician to shadow in my area because of the pandemic. Would the virtual shadowing programs put on by professionals suffice? Thanks!

More or less school by school basis. Try to pull as much contacts as you possibly can to find in person (or even telehealth) shadowing.

Same I had plans to shadow 2 doctors one ghosted me and the other said residency got messed up and was delayed too much to let me shadow them. Alot of these schools have adcoms that participated in virtual shadowing videos so it has to count for something for some schools at least.

yeah i have tried and unfortunately failed :-( its just because of the pandemic tbh. I am going to try again and push for telehealth but I just hope that schools can understand how difficult it is right now.

The struggle is so widespread right now, that most places understand if you put a good faith effort in and have other parts of your application that show you understand the daily lives and trials of physicians.
