How hard is it to obtain a visa for your husband/wife after you recieve letter of admission to dental school?

Are there any problems since you will be on student visa, and in general are people in the embassy positive about going to US with your spouse?

I heard if you obtained I-20 from the school, you can apply for a F-2 visa for your spouse. I don't think they will give you too much trouble about taking your spouse since they understand the spouse is an integral part of your life.

My spouse's here on F2. We were very nervous about the interview. Went in for an agent & stuff. But that was a big mistake & could have cost us heavily - didn't Thank god!! That fool of an agent didn't even know or bother to check the documentation req on the FIRST pg of the visa info for F2 interview. So, my wife did not have my passport copy or it's number either. But we got the visa. The interviewer was very nice. I don't think getting a spouse visa is difficult at all. Just make sure your spouse has all papers in place, including finances. They usually ask about that. And carry the marriage certificate & marriage album. They saw ALL of it TILL THE END for my wife.

what type of visa is needed for going to US for NBDE ,is it B1/B2 ?

if so what document should i show them in the embassy?
