Well if you have a green card you don’t have to as you are considered a permanent resident and so don’t require a visa to stay in the country.

i suppose to get my green card after 6 months. now i am cosidered an international student. my visa is expired, so i don't know if its required to provide the info to aadsas. is it required??

what was your status at the moment you applied for your green card?

it is a safer bet to call the schools and asked them.
good luck

yes it is. if you are a refugee or asylee or a perm res. then you dont need to fill that portion of AADSAS. but if you are an international student, then you must indicate that in aadsas. it is also perfectly acceptable and expected of you to send a letter to the admissions office explaining and PROVING that your green card is on its way in 6 months. on the day of the inTview, take your INS documents, including biometric data appointment, to the admissions office so that they 'd make copies for your file.

american professional schools understand very well the feelings of those who are not perm res. or citizens. it is a situation uncomfortable for both parties. get ready to make many copies of your documents. get a fax machine handy and be prepared for some frustration and for resending documents when one of the little admissions folks misplaces your documents. in the end, it should be ok, especially if the green card is on its way.

if your visa is expired, then you are out of status, making you illegal to stay here. why not give your entire detail, rather then just bits and pieces of it?

what other detail do you want to know?? university of michigan accepted me with an expired visa. now i am attending it and i will get a bachelor degree in biology. i am not sure about graduate schools. i am planning to apply to private dental schools, so it will not matter. if i get accepted in december or after that then my green card will be available, so it will not be a problem. what about the visa info.?? is it ok if i don't fill out the visa info?

i am not on a student visa that is why they never checked it. i don't even know what kind of visa that i have. do you think dental schools will reject me if i tell them my visa is expired??

i don't know if they will reject you or not, but I do think that the state schools and some private schools prefer LPR or USCitizens over international students mainly because of fees etc. If you have demonstrate you have enough money to pay for school or have a co-signer willing to take responsibility, that'd would help. If I were you, I would clearly state that in my personal statement. Whatever you do, don't lie, it will only haunt you in the end. Contact the USCIS and get your exact immigration status and put that on your application. Good luck.

Well, this is a pretty hard subject for anyone in your situation to come forward and ask for advice.

If you are an undocumented student, aka "illegal alien", you can very well apply to dental school no problem. It's just that some schools, mostly state schools and some private schools, require that you are a US citizen or permanent resident. Just call the schools and ask them if they have such requirement.

Many other dental schools do not weigh in on a person's immigration status when making acceptance/rejection decision. However, it is very important that you assure the schools that you have sufficient funds to afford the education.

On a side note, please support the DREAM Act pending in Congress right now along with Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill!

Call the school and explain you situation. Pretty silly posting your question on a predent forum where people here know next to nothing about immigration documentation.
