My SO has a conference in Sacramento today and tomorrow, so I was thinkin of leaving work early and driving up to Davis tomorrow (Friday) and checking things out. I'm going to try to get there by 2 or 3PM and look around campus, them meet my SO around 6PM and have dinner and look around town. Anyone have any recommedations of where to go/ what to see? It seems like Davis has a general campus tour, but nothing vet specific. Any thoughts on what I might be able to check out on campus and what is worth seeing and doing in town? I applied to several schools, but Davis is definately top on my list.
Thanks so much in advance.

The campus tour is decent, but doesn't take you to the vet med campus.

Call the teaching hospital and see if they can give you a tour; they have student tour guides who are pretty good.

Make sure to walk around downtown - there are lots of restaurants, bars, and bike shops.

If you are around Saturday morning, the Farmer's market downtown is really good too.

Have fun! 🙂

There is really good Thai food at Sophia's and a couple of fun burger joints as well. I bet if you call the VMTH a student will give you a tour! Have fun! This is a pretty nice time of year up there... I might actually drop by on Saturday to show my foster dog to a UCD undergrad!

Thanks for the advise! I took the tour today, and had a great time. Hopefully I'll be back for an interview!
