volunteer position.

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
For non-clinical volunteering I'm looking to volunteer at a place that houses the homeless. What I'll be doing there is teaching a computer class for two hours a week in the computer lab. I like computers and think I'm good with them. I'll also be volunteering at a hospice in the near future. Does the teaching gig hold any weight?
All volunteering is good volunteering. This teaching one is a unique experience that will be probably be a good talking point at interviews because it shows you have interests outside of dentistry and you have the capacity to help someone learn. As far as overall volunteering, shoot for 100+ hours if you can.

Yeah definitely! Volunteering is one of the few areas of your application were can make yourself stand out and be unique. This sounds like a good opportunity and hopefully will give you a lot of great experience.
