I was wondering how applicants deal with volunteering that will be done in September, when one is applying in June/July. I currently volunteer at a hospital and will return to a similar position (ER instead of ICU) at the same hospital next semester. Is it wrong to include it my application, considering that by the time my file is reviewed, I will in fact be volunteering there?

I included a "prospective" activities section of my Amcas, Describing what i plan to do. Then i sent out letters of update clarifying what i actually did.

Don't say for sure you will be doing something, because then if it falls through your screwed.

Also...no ones going to care about your extra few months in the ER. Have you already done some sort of hospital shadowing/volunteering?

I wouldnt list it n your AMCAS iif you havent begun it. I think it would be best to just send update letters.

Yeah, I have done hospital volunteering in the past. I just thought that it would show commitment. And I'm a Canadian applying to the states, so I need as much of a boost as I can get.
