I volunteer at a local hospital, just front-desk stuff. I haven't shadowed, or seen a surgery, or done any cool stuff. I have 120 hours right now. When I go to apply to med school (Which I am well aware is a WHILE away) can I list these as hours I've completed? How many hours should I shoot for, like what's the norm?

Thanks in advance:)

They primarily like to see things that you did in college. If you volunteer in college, you need to highlight that. Then you can also list in the description that you did some in high school. Most schools like to see a few hundred hours. I will have 300+ hours medical volunteering when I apply, plus shadowing and a few thousand hours of other volunteer work.

They usually ask what you have done since graduating high school. However, if you can keep up the volunteering at the same place until you graduate high school and just a little while into college then you can write it down.
