Hi everyone,

I can submit my primary this sunday and I already have a MD letter of rec.

A DO doctor recently allowed me to job shadow but it won't be for another 3 weeks, so I won't be getting a DO letter for a month.

Is it better to submit early with an MD letter or wait a bit and submit with a DO letter? Researching the schools I'm applying to (the 5 historic DO schools), they strongly prefer a DO letter.

You can submit your primary without letters and get it verified. Load the letters when you get them which is fine. Nobody is going to look at them until your secondary's are being reviewed as far as I am aware.

I guess my question is, is it worth it to submit secondary etc and be done a month ahead with an MD letter or should I wait to have my file completed with a DO letter.

I have a 3.6 gpa and a 507 mcat.

Yes, most schools will accept the MD letter, and they will get the DO letter before they review your secondary.
I have a 3.82 and 507 MCAT, so we are almost sames.
