Wait for spring grades??? help!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Submitting June 21 is not going to kill you. It's still very early. It may take an extra couple weeks to get verified, but if you apply, do it correctly. This is a difficult process, with a lot of luck involved. Wait. Not a huge difference in numbers by absolute value, but pretty damn significant when we're talking about somebody with a 3.4 and 3.3 vs 3.5 and 3.4. It just gives a better immediate first impression. Give yourself all of the help you can get. Just my opinion.

Would kind of be interested to know what people think about this as well. I'm looking at a 3.675--> 3.7 difference with spring quarter grades. I was under the impression that adcoms would not judge the slight increase any differently and I would benefit more from submitting ASAP rather than wait a few weeks for grades to come out.

Can you submit amcas early and then add in spring semester grades afterwards?

I'm at a quarter system school and waited until I got my spring grades (actually even longer...) before I submitted my primary, as recommended by my prehealth advising office, and saw a very marginal increase in GPA (+.02) by doing so.

June 21 will still most likely be totally fine, but if you think you are a marginal candidate, then applying early will be more beneficial than the marginal GPA boost. If you really want to submit your spring grades later, you can always send them in an update, as mentioned above.
