For those who had not heard from the dental schools
We are pretty much rejected
I think the best way to deal with this is
starting upgrading your profile for the next cycle
The earlier you realize the fact= the higher chances of getting accepted next year
Stop thinking about that you might still have a chance of being accepted
and stop posting threads such as "Do i still have a chance in this cycle"

Good Luck Everyone :meanie:

Lame

This is appropriate late April early May. Right now interviews are still being given out and plenty of spots left to fill. Update your application you have now and show the schools some interest, it may be the little extra edge you need.

i wouldnt give up so soon, though time is running out of course. i got 2 interviews in the last 2 weeks after hearing nothing at all. so id bet there are a few more seats to be had. good luck

since schools are still handing out interviews, i would say this is really early. also consider that some schools admissions committee's only meet about 3 times. once for Dec. once in Feb and once in March/April... so for those schools (Tennessee for example) it is not late by any means...

What's the point of this thread anyway? If that's what you feel you need to do, do it. But don't kill it for the ones still waiting. Your pessimism will shoot ya in the foot...

This is a pretty ridiculous thing to say...especially when there are so many hopeful people still waiting for news!
There are plenty of schools that are still conducting interviews. People are getting acceptances daily!
Keep your half-empty glass to yourself!

in the words of the great michael scott, "never, ever, ever give up." although it's definitely not early in the cycle anymore, it seems like people are still getting interview invites everyday. You always hear stories of people who get in the week before school starts, and it's only February. The op does have a good point about improving your profile though because it never hurts to be prepared.

Wow...I pretty much pictured you typing that thread bawling your eyes out with a half empty (obviously with you it's half empty) bottle of scotch next to you with Delilah on the radio playing some sappy song.

Seriously whats the point of that? If you haven't been rejected, then hold onto some hope, people have been accepted before much later than this. Don't expect us to agree with you and jump on the pity-pot while you eat a gallon of ice cream watching Lifetime movies.

Misery loves company I guess...

Unfortunately at this point there may be only a few drops left in the glass. Certainly not enough to quench everyone's thirst.

just came back from Tufrs interview...
only half of the class was filled as of yesterday..
so, if you have not received any interview invitations...stay positive..
it's not too late yet..

What schools did you receive invites from?

I do have a question similar to the topic. Is it possible to go through an entire cycle just completely ignored by a school? Like you don't even get a rejection letter? I thought I had a friend who was rejected last cycle say that half of the schools that he applied to he did not even receive a rejection letter until he called the school at the end of the cycle to find out what happened.

Is there a point when you should start phoning the schools that took your money and a secondary last year and you have not heard a thing form them since? I know it is only february but I'm thinking more along the lines of end of March and April so you can start preparing for May 15th all over again.

like most have already stated ... dont give up yet. People are still getting invites and going on interviews. If you really are worried, work on improving your application but dont just throw in the towel.

P.S. a few of you guys need to fix your predents profile links (i.e. steriod, hokie)
