If any admissions folks out there have advice for me, it would be appreciated greatly.

I am currently waitlisted at a state school and plan on reapplying early decision to this school if rejected. Early decision apps open in three days and I have yet to alter any writing on my application from this cycle. How important is changing my personal statement or activity descriptions at this point? Already scrambling to study for the mcat considering my score is now expired.

Background: I interviewed at this school last year, was put on a no further action list, and subsequently got rejected before making the actual waitlist. Followed up with the Dean who said everything was great and that I just needed to finish my post grad. Reapplied, interviewed again. I just finished my post grad with a 4.0 but didn't have my grades until three days after I was waitlisted.. they actually told me in the interview that having my final grades for the semester in time(3 days earlier ) would be a critical factor in weighing acceptance chances.

Do not apply Early Decisions unless you are encouraged to do so by the Admissions office.

Thanks for the response! Why do you suggest avoiding ED?

I am meeting with the dean again on June 14 to discuss what to do. Knowing this schools admissions process and him fairly well, I'm anticipating that he will suggest ED.

You put your yourself at a significant disadvantage by delaying your application to other schools.
"Early" Decisions can come out quite late (October).

They are actually the only school I intend to apply to.

If I applied normally, how would you respond to my OP? Normal apps open just a few days after early decision so it wouldn't really matter in the context of what I'm struggling with I suppose.

If you are only going to apply to a single school, it really doesn't matter whether you apply EDP or not.
Since you are meeting with the dean, ask for their opinion.

My meeting with him is almost two weeks after apps open up. That's why I'm trying to get some second opinions on changing PS and app essays. Really want to get my app in on day 1. Just wondering how adcom members would feel about seeing the same ps and essays. I should have excluded the early decision part from the title of my post lol.

I heard from several Adcom members to rewrite the PS when reapplying

That does seem to be the prevailing thought. I guess I'm wondering if that rule tends to be an absolute among adcom members. It Seems unnecessary given my circumstances but maybe necessity is not the point.

I would think that you didn't care to improve it.
