Is there a thread showing which schools have had waitlist movement?
There’s a tracker on Reddit if people fill it out. Link is a page before in this thread. Or googling reddit waitlist acceptance 2018 tracker or similar should get you there.

Anyone finding it hard to keep your hopes up when it seems like everyone is being taken off the waitlist except you lol (laughing to hide my pain 🤔)
Yes!! I am on 4 waitlist right now (2 DO, 2 MD), and I feel like none of my waitlists are moving.

Anyone here on the waitlist for University of Massachusetts? Or if anyone knows if there has been a waitlist movement/what the waitlist movement is like? Thanks!

hanuman08, I am on the UMass list, but no word yet. I will definitely make a post if I hear from them. Let me know if you hear anything! I don't know if it is an email or a phone call.

After being rejected from every school last year, retaking my MCAT, reapplying, going to interviews only to get waitlisted or rejected, I am happy to say that I have finally been accepted to my top choice!

Got off Stanford’s waitlist yesterday! 🙂

Congrats y'al!!!

I am getting really anxious now since my school’s cutoff date for me to wait for admission news is May 7 (Military Service Acedemy) or I am going to be reassigned. Don’t know what I can do at this point, have written 2 LOI so far...,

after being rejected by 24 schools and sitting on 1 WL I'm getting ready to re-apply, anyone have thoughts on applying to that 1 school that WL'd me? Has anyone had any success being accepted the year after not being taken off the WL?

In a similar boat. I know it depends on the school , but a lot of schools will automatically give you an interview next cycle if you got onto the waitlist in the last cycle so I'd go ahead and reapply there. I've seen several people on here get accepted after reapplying so there is hope

Just curious how you know a lot of schools automatically give interviews to those they've waitlisted? This sounds awesome though.

Hey! I am a reapplicant. I interviewed at a school last year and didn't end up making it. (got 1 interview and no acceptances) I contacted the admissions and asked if I could meet with them regarding my application and what I could do to improve it. They were able to meet with me and give me advice! It definitely helped for this cycle and showed that I was still very interested in attending.

I think you should consider letting both of those schools know of your current situation. When explaining it to them, just be completely honest. Try to frame it in a way that doesn't make it seem like you are "desperate" for a decision, but rather you are in a bit of a bind and would appreciate a quick response.

I hope that helps!

Thank you so much for your advice, Numbehs. I will give them a call after lunch. There is nothing to lose at this point anyway, and reapply is going to be much more work than making this last effort, as I am obliged to serve a few years before I can apply again. Thanks again! Congratulations to all those who got off waitlist and good luck to you all who are still waiting.

Applying this cycle? I feel like if you made significant contributions to your app then you should be fine. Being on the WL means you were too strong to reject but they saw some things you could have worked on. I think its a good idea to include them.

Adding onto this, making sure you have added significant things to your application is a must before you consider reapplying. If it hasn't changed or just a tiny bit, you're going to spend a lot of application money for the same results. You may however, with or without additions, be a good DO candidate and should look into that route.

Some WL people who reapply get accepted the next year, and some don't even get an interview. It is definitely worth throwing your name in to that school again though!

Thats where Im stuck because I sent updates to a lot of schools and havent done much besides continued those activities. But I also heard that pre interview updates dont hold much weight so idk if my application will have a significant change or not.

Make your own thread in the reapplicant advice thing, and give your old application, updates sent mid-season, and any other updates.

I just got off the phone with an admissions officer from mayo and she told me that updates arent very useful unless they are on the fence about sending you an II or not. And said my experience over the year will really boost my app. So I guess theres my answer haha.

Anyone willing to share Emory/Vanderbilt/NYU MSAR please?

All 3 of the waitlists I’m on had significant May 2nd movement last year...but not a peep this year in any of the 3 threads. And no movement yesterday either.

Wondering if the SDN population is just not getting WL movement this year or (optimistically) if the schools are just on a slower schedule this year

It's probably just slower this year. Which 3 schools were they???

I noticed the same thing with 1 of my schools. I think they're just slow. There's no way that nobody says anything. People love to share good news!

Same here guys. My waitlist has been slower this year than in the past 3 years! No idea what's up..but I think this year is just an outlier

Anyone willing to share Emory/Vanderbilt/NYU MSAR please?
Emory:Typical number of waitlist positions per cycle-Varies
Number of acceptance offers granted to applicants on the waitlist-Not Provided
Waitlist procedures and information-Interviewed applicants who are selected for alternate status will receive instructions via email at the close of the interview season.
Vanderbilt:Typical number of waitlist positions per cycle-All candidates not initially offered admissions are placed on the waitlist. VUSM welcomes additional contact from waitlisted applicants, if they are truly interested in attending.
Number of acceptance offers granted to applicants on the waitlist-15
Waitlist procedures and information-Applicants are encouraged to stay in touch with VUSM, as we view that as interest in staying on the non-ranked waitlist. The committee uses a holistic review in selecting from the waitlist.
NYU:Typical number of waitlist positions per cycle-Approximately 600
Number of acceptance offers granted to applicants on the waitlist-100
Waitlist procedures and information-Applicants are notified of their waitlist status in late January/early February. Applicants can be accepted from the waitlist up until the first day of orientation in August.

Hopping on the "hope it's just that WL movement is slow". 2/3 of my waitlists have had no one say anything here, and 1 had a TON of movement (but previous years didn't show much movement at all).

It's just been A Day emotionally. Best of luck to us all!!
Also hoping for that I'm on 4 waitlists, 2 have had 2-3 people post acceptances, 1 has only one post, and the last has nothing.

I'm on 3 waitlists currently. Technically, I'm on 4, but UCF has never accepted anyone from the lower-third of the waitlist, which is where I'm placed 🙁. Luckily, the other three schools have some significant movement, but I'm tired of holding my breath. Here's to hoping I hear some good news and don't have to gear up to reapply.

Yes me too! I work in a lab and every chance I get to remove my gloves, I check my phone hehe

Hahah same and theres construction going on outside my building right now and it sometimes sounds like my phone is vibrating on my desk I cant deal
