Ok, maybe someone can help me...I'm curious about what happens if you have been waitlisted and not accepted? Are your chances pretty sound for the following year? Or do you think it would be just as competitive and would you have to go through the entire process again?? Just curious. If anyone has any input that would be great 😉

As indicated in FutureRXGal's reply to the other thread you generated, you will likely have to go through the entire process again.

Your only advantage would be that you have been through the process before and are more familiar with it than first time applicants.

Your chances of getting off the waitlist is dramatically improved if you apply early (if the school offers rolling admission). At that point, a lot of other students are still waiting to hear from other schools and as they hear they'll cancel their admit. However, if you are waitlisted towards the end of the cycle, unfortunately, your chances are pretty slim. At that point, you'll be crossing your fingers for students who get off wait-lists at their preferred school or are missing classes or paperwork. I'm in CA and most of the schools here don't tell you your position. However, UCSF does keep you updated on your position. UOP tells you whether not you're in the upper or lower half of the list.

thanks for the input!!

I think one of the most important factors is early application. PharmCAS is scheduled to reopen on June 15. I don't believe that they are going to actually send the apps until August (you can double check that), and if so, that gives you almost 2 months to gather your materials together. Plus, if you kept a copy of everything from last year, that will save you tons of time and headaches when entering all of it again this year. I know that some schools (Midwestern - Glendale, for instance), will create a pending file for you if you go ahead and send in your letters of recommendation, even without having your application. You'd have to check with each school on that. Glendale is one that will be on rolling admissions this year, so it's in your best interest to send it in asap.

Also, like I've posted before, if you are taking summer courses and want those grades to be included in the GPA that the pharmacy schools will see (providing you submit your application prior to January 2005), then wait to submit your application until August. PharmCAS will not let you add your summer grades if you submit the application prior to completing those classes. You would have to wait until their updating session in January. Hope this helps.

I know a lot of people that were accepted with a lot of pending courses including ORG I and II.In my opinion is better to submit the aplication early.I appllied on November last year ,and I am waitlisted.
