I am in my first professional year in pharmacy school (Saint Louis College of Pharmacy) and I was accepted into the Walgreens Pharmacy Summer Internship program. They haven't given us any information yet other than that we are accepted, so I was wondering if any of you have done this 12 week program and my most important question is what the pay is and work load because I was also contacted by CVS (which I also applied for summer internship) and they contacted me back but I'm not sure whether I want to do CVS or Walgreens....my mind is on whichever pays higher but I don't know what either pays.....does anyone know???

I'm wondering if they pay at all because it is an internship after all. I think you should give each company a call and see what's going on but if it was between Walgreens and CVS, I would go with Walgreens

I don't know about Missouri but in Florida the pay at Walgreens was over $1 higher than CVS last year

internships are paid. An externship is free labor.

You will be compensated according to your level of study. P1 start at $13 an hour.

Really? That's terrible! A lot of companies pay engineering undergrads double that...

They're paying you to learn, and you're doing so in about the capacity of a pharmacy technician, many of whom start out under this pay rate.

Personally, I appreciate the idea of a paid internship. Not all students have the opportunity to get one (due to IPPE scheduling, etc).

My question is: 12 weeks? Wow! Wish I could land that gig. We get 10 weeks max in our program!
