The Black URM applicant pool is small and there are only 120 that apply each year with a MCAT of 513 or higher and a GPA of 3.4 or higher. There are over 150 MD schools. So if they all go to top 40 schools (which only some will) then each school may have 2 per class. So if those schools want any Black students in their class they need to interview you.
