Hello, I'm applying this cycle (2026-2027) and wanted to know what schools would be good for me 🙂. I'm aware that my GPA is on the lower side, and I've been working to boost it with a DIY post bacc (32 credits) where I got a 4.0 GPA (cumulative).

Just out of curiosity, would you mind explaining some of these higher stat schools like Kaiser & Arizona (Phoenix) please? I didn't even think to apply to them considering I was so out of reach (stat-wise) for them.

Kaiser has free tuition but that may end in 2027, in which case it would be less competitive. Arizona admits a significant number of non residents, with many coming from CA.

How long ago did you graduate from undergrad, and what was your major/GPA from that era? Have you talked with admissions recruiters at schools where you have a strong interest in your academic history (especially if you have been successful with your postbac science courses)?

I graduated in 2023 and I was a history major. I had a cGPA of 3.60 and a sGPA of 3.2/3.3 (I'm not sure what the exact GPA was).

I have talked to admission recruiters at school-specific admission conferences if that's what you're referring to. The advice I was given was pretty much the same like holistic review and upward trend.
