Hey y'all,
I would appreciate any criticism about my application. Not sure how it will pay out with 2 mcats.
So my stats are 3.7 GPA (BS Bio, minors chem and econ) and 517 (130,129,128,130)MCAT (first take 506 (130,124,126,126) 1.5 years prior). I can also speak French, but not sure how helpful that is
Extracurriculars:
-Shadowing at children's hospital (100 hours over 3 months)
-VP of Fraternity-held as a sophomore, around 50-60 hours. (1 semester)
-Philanthropy chair-held as sophomore, around 40 hours, helped organize a major event
-Formal Chair for fraternity, around 50-60 hours (1 semester)
-Found a club on campus that recovers surplus food and donates to homeless shelters/soup kitchens (300ish hours between the two years I was involved)
-Relay for Life Greek Chair (175 hrs over 2 years)
-EMT for 300 hours (2 years)
-Student Conduct Board (150ish hours over 2 years)
-Private High School Tutor in biology and chemistry (100 hours 1 year)
-Clinical Research at major cancer hospital (full time job so will probably be around 3,200 by the time I leave)
Independent Projects
-Lab project-as part of a course I took in my senior year (100 hours over 2 months)
-Clinical research-working on a case report for a rare cancer (stuck with PI, probably won't get published by the time I apply) and working on a medical records review of 400 patients of a relatively rare cancer. I don't think it will be published by the time I apply, but it will definitely be written by then. (150 hours thus far over 3 months)
I'm also planning on volunteering at a hospice home in the area. They're currently doing a background check on me.
