Hi all I would appreciate some advice/guidance in regards to applying to MD and DO

1. My sGPA is 3.29 after 43 credits of post-bacc classes and 40 credits of BCPM with 3.93. cGPA is 3.39
2. I just received my MCAT score which was a 505 126/124/126/129 which was disappointingly lower than my FLs
3. CA, USA
4. Asian male
5. Attended UW, Seattle
6. 1000 hrs scribe in the ED
200 hrs volunteer at a cancer hospital physical therapy clinic
7. 250 hrs research volunteer/recruiter
8. 40 hrs DO (Physical medicine and rehab)
60 hrs MD (Cardiology)
9. 400 hrs foster dog parent
350 hrs homeless shelter volunteer
10. 300 hrs tutoring underserved/low SES students (paid)
running+basketball+badminton split into 2 EC sections
11. N/A
12. I would like to think my PS and other essays are relatively strong. LORs should be at least average strength.

- My AMCAS is currently verified (applied to throwaway school) and I have prewritten the common secondaries. I'm stuck whether or not to even apply to MDs this cycle. I was thinking of applying to very select few MD schools with lower MCAT averages (UC Davis, UC Riverside, and OOS schools). I also have strong ties to UH-JABSOM (I don't know if it'll make much of a difference).
- I prefer applying to MD but am also open to applying to DO this cycle. I would highly prefer to attend DO schools in CA, AZ, NV, or IL since it's closer to family/friends.
- I wanted to get your guys' opinions or advice on what I should be doing.

Thanks ahead of time!

The GPA-MCAT grid shows that applicants with your stats have ~30% chance for a MD acceptance. For a CA resident it would be lower. You can apply to both MD and DO schools. For DO schools I suggest these with your geographic preference:
WESTERN
TUCOM-CA
CHSU-COM
TUNCOM
AZCOM
ATSU-SOMA
CCOM
Also consider these DO schools:
ATSU-KCOM
KCU-COM
DMU-COM
MU-COM
CUSOM
LECOM (all schools)
VCOM (all schools except Monroe)
For MD schools you could try these:
California University
Loma Linda (if you fit their mission)
TCU-UNT
NOVA MD
Creighton
Loyola
Medical College Wisconsin
Oakland Beaumont
Wayne State
Vermont
Quinnipiac
New York Medical College
Seton Hall
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
George Washington

Thank you! So you would recommend still giving MD a shot this cycle?
