I’m an incoming first year at a uk med school. Not oxbridge, icsm or ucl so I don’t have the “prestige” factor. I know step 1 is pass/fail which doesn’t help, but if I were to really try in terms of research (including intercalating to get an extra degree to get more research), graduate with honours, smash step 2 and attempt to honour US rotations, would my chances be good?
What if I don’t do all of these things? I have seen the data for imgs but most of them come from developing countries like India or Pakistan, and I can’t help thinking pds might prefer an img from a country with a developed healthcare system.
