A short intro about you, where you are from, any previous application results, the school/s you are interested in, your current career interests.
25, Female, Asian minority, CA native. First time applying and focusing on becoming a lab animal veterinarian. Applying to Davis (mainly because of in state but I know my chances are low due to GRE/GPA), CSU, and Tufts

Cumulative GPA: 3.33 undergrad/ 3.44 overall
science GPA: unsure, how do I know what courses are considered sci?

GRE results: Q/V/W 146/153/3.5 Not planning on retaking

Veterinary Experience:
- Assistant Lab Animal Technician for University of California ~544hrs
-Vet Assistant for a small animal clinic ~620hrs and current job
-Job shadow small animal clinic ~20hrs

Animal Experience:
- Sci aid for Fish and Wildlife, eradication/no vet ~1440hrs
- Animal Shelter Volunteer ~94hrs
- Small Rescue Volunteer Coordinator doing adoption, animal care, and recruiting volunteers ~140hrs
-FFA in highschool showing pig and rabbit
-Rover pet sitting

Research Experience:
-Wildlife Tech ~800hrs
-Elephant seal resighting as part of a student course ~10hours
-Small animal trapping ~100hrs

I don't have a lot of vet hours but I am putting under my explanation about covid.
 
Hi! I think it’d help to see ur chances better if we see ur gpas (especially for Davis bc they use science gpa and last 68 quarter units to choose applicants)

you can use this link to find which classes count towards ur science gpa: VMCAS Course Subjects

And then use the VMCAS gpa calculator to calculate what ur last 68 quarter units are. I put in my classes from most recent to oldest to add up the units for the last 68 units. Hope this helps and best of luck 🙂
