I submitted my application a few weeks ago and am super worried about hearing back from vet schools. For most of college, I was quarantined at home with my at-risk family so my veterinary hours are pretty low. I would love to know your thoughts.

21 years old, female, Maryland resident

Degrees:
B.S. in Animal & Nutritional Sciences

Cum GPA: 3.82
Science GPA: 3.74



Veterinary Experience:
- 180 hours LA Sports Medicine Clinic
- 333 hours SA Emergency Clinic
- 90 hours Wildlife & Avian Rehabilitation Clinic
- 288 hours SA GP Clinic (this was in high school but I still added it)

Animal Experience:
- 300+ hours animal shelter worker
-Member of dog training club
-Foster parent twice (60ish hours)

Research Experience:
-78 hours researching RFI and adaptive immune gene expression in cows

Leadership Experience:
-Teaching assistant in STEM classes for 3 semesters
-STEM tutor for 3 semesters
-Alumnae-relations chairman of my sorority for 1 semester
-Sisterhood committee chairman of my sorority for 1 semester
-Secretary of disability rights organization for 1 year

I took Casper and got the highest quartile

Letters of Recommendation:
-1 from SA Vet
-1 from animal physiology professor I am a TA for
-1 from British literature professor

I used my explanation statement to talk about my hours being low due to covid.
