GPA for last two years is roughly 3.9
As far as the list goes, I created using data to see where I would be a good fit and what residency preferences they have. MUSC was the only school that I applied to due to a personal legacy connection.

As long as you didn't do nothing in your time between applications you should have a chance. They emphasize letting there be a noticeable change between application cycles. Being a reapplicant can be something that looks good, but hopefully there is a noticeable change they can see. Submitting much earlier is a good sign!

by "data" do you mean GPA/DAT?

MUSC specifically asks if you lived in SC for 5 consecutive years.

It's curious why DCG would pass you up.

I did shadow some more in between, and my GPA went up a good bit. The only other thing is I added about 300 more volunteer hours. DCG is my top choice since I have been in Augusta the past 4 years. Do you think they will penalize me for having below 300 shadowing hours?

Yes, I do know the MUSC SC preference. I am, however, a legacy of the program, and all of my shadowing was done in South Carolina. The Dentist who wrote my recommendation practices in South Carolina as well.

As far as DCG goes, I was told that I applied way to late in the cycle. Hopefully, applying early helps my chances at an Interview.

That's actually an extremely good amount of volunteering hours, that definitely looks good. They won't penalize you for less than 300, I think I had less than 300 and I was still let in, so shadowing hours isn't too much of the thing to stress about.

As for applying late I know for a fact that even if you have really good stats that if you applied pretty late they'll just not accept you for that. I know someone who had that happen to them and admissions said that the only reason they didn't get in first time around was solely because they applied late.

Yeah, DAT and GPA, along with OOS acceptance and enrollment rates.
you get interview invites and acceptances by having mission fit with a program
dat/gpa/oos rates are not mission fit

your school list is not unreasonable (outside of MUSC being a reach), although i would prefer a longer list since you only have 2 publics other than MUSC...
