3. TX resident
4. Asian female
5. Ordinary clinical hours and volunteering
6. Extensive research in a cancer lab, a publication to come out in Nov. just sent letters of update to schools
7. Applied to TX schools and top 20 OOS

Interviewed at Tx schools only so far. No II from any OOS at this point. Does this mean no chance with OOS? Would the letters of update about the pending publication help?

It is not unusual that you have not received interviews from OOS schools since OOS schools know from years of experience that their Texas applicants will attend a Texas school. Your high stats may attract interest at some OOS schools though.

Thanks! The silence is unnerving..... Is there a way to let the schools know I am truly interested after the applications were submitted? Would letters of update help at all?

Send them if you have something significant to update (ie: accepted pub, new fall semester grades, etc) and if the schools are known to be receptive to update letters.
