- Multiple gap years due to the economic situation/online schooling being awful. Obtained my paramedic license, then worked as a solo medic on an ambulance for approximately 1 year. Primarily, I focused on taking additional classes for my degree/working in EMS.

- My degree required about twice as many science classes as the standard, and it focused entirely on clinical diseases, identification, and related topics. Class examples include clinical microbiology/parasitology/hematology/chemistry etc. This required a clinical component; the classes had a clinical portion (performance with tests, attendance etc) but also a lecture portion that covered more in-depth microbiology/heme/hemostasis. I am not sure if they technically count, as they aren’t straight science classes. I initially dropped out of college due to COVID (grades took a huge hit from this tbh online learning is awful for me), and focused on working/obtaining class requirements in semi-in-person classes when I could. I def could have volunteered, but between needing money and fitting classes in where I could, I figured it would be best for my sanity to avoid it. I’m looking to volunteer with upchieve to help low income individuals with tutoring. Now that I have a bit more flexibility with time, I'm looking to do more volunteering to make up for the hours I do not have. Clearly, I’m a non-trad and I can go into more details if needed. I don’t have a list of med schools to apply to, other than in-state, of course, as I feel rather overwhelmed by the amount I could apply to; that and it feels like I am not good enough for any of them. I didn’t really have a good pre-med advisement team in my case, as per my college, I didn’t need one. In their defense, I did drop out once and came back almost three years later
