  1. Pre-Medical
  1. cGPA and sGPA as calculated by AMCAS or AACOMAS
    1. cGPA 3.63, sGPA 3.591 (With clinical classes, sGPA 3.678 see 12)
  2. MCAT score(s) and breakdown. Include all (non-voided) attempts.
    1. Practice 508 median, range 507 (not happy with where I am, feel like I have content gaps/do a more comprehensive total review, then take in ~Feb)
  3. State of residence or country of citizenship (if non-US)
    1. WI
  4. Ethnicity and/or race
    1. White
  5. Undergraduate institution or category
    1. Four year, Majored in clinical laboratory science, minor Chemistry.
  6. Clinical experience (volunteer and non-volunteer)
    1. Approx. 3000~ hours EMT-B, 2000 to 3000 by time of application as EMT-P. May get CCP license. Medical laboratory experience (blood bank specifically); 300~
  7. Research experience and productivity
    1. Around 20~ hours pre-COVID. Research was never restarted. I was never interested in this, though.
  8. Shadowing experience and specialties represented
    1. ~40-50 hours. ER, Neuro, surg, ENT, internal med.
  9. Non-clinical volunteering
    1. Zero. (see 12)
  10. Other extracurricular activities (including athletics, military service, gap year activities, leadership, teaching, etc)
    1. Multiple gap years due to the economic situation/online schooling being awful. Obtained my paramedic license, then worked as a solo medic on an ambulance for approximately 1 year. Primarily, I focused on taking additional classes for my degree/working in EMS.
  11. Relevant honors or awards
    1. Graduated cum laude, for what it’s worth.
  12. Anything else not listed you think might be important
    1. My degree required about twice as many science classes as the standard, and it focused entirely on clinical diseases, identification, and related topics. Class examples include clinical microbiology/parasitology/hematology/chemistry etc. This required a clinical component; the classes had a clinical portion (performance with tests, attendance etc) but also a lecture portion that covered more in-depth microbiology/heme/hemostasis. I am not sure if they technically count, as they aren’t straight science classes. I initially dropped out of college due to COVID (grades took a huge hit from this tbh online learning is awful for me), and focused on working/obtaining class requirements in semi-in-person classes when I could. I def could have volunteered, but between needing money and fitting classes in where I could, I figured it would be best for my sanity to avoid it. I’m looking to volunteer with upchieve to help low income individuals with tutoring. Now that I have a bit more flexibility with time, I'm looking to do more volunteering to make up for the hours I do not have. Clearly, I’m a non-trad and I can go into more details if needed. I don’t have a list of med schools to apply to, other than in-state, of course, as I feel rather overwhelmed by the amount I could apply to; that and it feels like I am not good enough for any of them. I didn’t really have a good pre-med advisement team in my case, as per my college, I didn’t need one. In their defense, I did drop out once and came back almost three years later

Welcome to the forums.

Clinical lab sciences is a difficult science-adjacent field that is focused (importantly) on quality control of lab results. It is considered similar to allied health than "pure" biomedical sciences so the experience helps with "health science" exposure, but isn't as strong compared to more patient-facing-focused roles in a healthcare setting. You still must take your traditional prehealth prereqs and your MCAT.

I encourage you to meet with admissions officers at schools closest to you.

I should have specified that I have the reqs for most medical colleges done.

Because your CLS courses are likely co-mingled with your science and BCPM GPA's, list your prereqs, upper-level biomeds, and grades earned.

Calc'd without them. 3.54. I forgot to include MATH previously, but it doesn't make much of a difference.
Ordered classes based on level |100s| lowest, |300| highests (based on my college). The credit amount is after grade, if you need that. College conversion is based on five or more passing grades (A being the highest). Only included classes that were considered BIOL, CHEM, PHYS, or MATH based on how my college identified them.
BIOL: Upper-level Microbiology/Human physiology
|100s| Plant A (5), Animal A (5), |200s| Genetics A (3), |300s| Human phys B+ (4), Gen Micro B+ (5), |NA| AP general biology 5 credits.

CHEM: 2 Gen chem semesters, 2 Ochem semesters, 1 biochem semester. Quant (Not bio related)
|100s| Gen 1 A (5), Gen 2 A-(5), |200s| Quant B (4) |300s| OChem 1 A- (4), Ochem 2 B (4), Biochem B (4),

PHYS:
|200s| Physics 1/2 (B-/A-. 5 credits each)

MATH:
|100s| alg A (2), Precalc alg A (4), Stats, 4 credits. AP placement

If my memory serves correctly, I was told that these classes would fulfill most requirements. I was thinking of simply retaking Physics 1 due to this being around COVID and not having a great time adapting to online learning.

Not calc'd was;
English 2 semesters,
Psych 1 semester,
Soc 1 semester.
I have more classes, but I don't know what other prereqs I would require. Not that it matters much, I changed cGPA as I forgot the transcrip I was using still didn't have my last classes graded. My apologies.
