Bio-Chem-Physics GPA: N/A
DAT score (include AA and all sections): 19AA//20TS (20OC, 19BIO, 21GC)//20PAT//19QR//18RC
State of Residence: Indiana
Major: Biology (BS)
Minor: Psych + Chem
Minority? No
Reapplicant? No
Nontrad? No

Shadowing Experience: 150+ Hours (most with general, but I've been expanding to ortho and pediatric recently)
Volunteering Experience: 130+ (dental clinic, within greek life, organizations, chem tutor)
Research: 150+ hours across 3 labs (bio and psych), 2 poster presentations, 2 coming up, publication under review
Other Extracurriculars: 300+ hours : Greek life, president of a club, exec on 2 others, orientation guide, club sports, other involvements)
Manual Dexterity: beaded embroidery on different fabrics, bio and chem labs
Misc Info/Things not stated elsewhere/Red Flags:
currently a junior, didn’t calculate fall 2024 into GPA (seems like I'm ending with a 3.86), haven't calculated SGPA and BCP yet, got a C- freshman year but I will be retaking the class

School list:
IU
Marquette
NYU
USC
Creighton
BU
Tufts
Arizona
Case Western
UNC
UAB

Is my DAT going to hinder my chances? I fear it’s too low, especially with the RC and having one in-state school. I know I'm going to have to apply broadly, how do I make myself a stronger applicant? Any school suggestions?

EDIT: added manual dexterity

Have you volunteered/shadowed/attended events at any dental schools? networking, volunteering in a D-school clinic, shadow faculty, etc.

no I have not yet
you need to fix this
esp at your state school...

(and please figure out your sGPA and BCP GPA)
but don't take time away from studying for finals, that is most important right now

DAT isn't terribly low, but you may have to wait a bit. Hoping your in-state works for you.

That said, community service???
I really hope so too! I've done lots of community service through my organizations like donation drives and community cleanups, is that the kind of thing you're asking about

To be completely transparent I simply didn't know that was a thing that pre-dental students could attend to; and although I am an Indiana resident, I went abroad for high school (east asia) so I honestly feel like I'm kind of behind in my college knowledge in a way

It's not about your "knowledge" from college. Calculating your application GPAs are on the ADEA GoDental site and the help documentation for AADSAS. Since you are a 2025-2026 applicant, it's best to know how to calculate it so that the final AADSAS calculation is where you expect it. This includes calculating science and BCP GPAs.

You have a few more months before that cycle begins. Take advantage of any recruitment opportunities, including virtual events and campus visits.

sorry I meant regional college knowledge not studies (unless you meant that and I read that wrong), I appreciate the advice
