Basically just want to know if it's worth taking another shot at MCAT before applying this year, I know I could do better especially with my CARS drop but I do have school full time and was hoping to get a little more volunteering. Would I be pretty set for DO but just not MD at all? I don't foresee myself doing a competitive specialty but who knows...

State of residency: MN

GPA: 3.73, Trend (3.2-3.4-3.9-4.0-3.9-3.9) Science GPA: 3.5-3.6 (basically got C's in gen chem, B+ in Biology, and A in everything else).

MCAT: 503 (125,125,125,128) disappointing as my CARS and PS averaged 130 on Fl's. I'm debating a retake in May where I just try and maintain B/B and C/P while getting CARS and P/S to 130+...

Clinical Experience: ~2000 hours split between being a CNA in a facility with memory care, long-term care, and a rapid recovery unit as a Float pool CNA at my University's Medical Center that is connected with the medical school here (will work in ER full time after applying for the year so expected hours will be even more.)

Non-clinical Volunteering experience: 1. ~100 hours Helping during mass and cleaning the church (pews, bathroom, etc..)). Also, do things like packing food with Feed My Starving Children, or spending a Saturday cleaning up campus through a church program.
2. ~ 80-100 hours, Volunteer group leader/tutor at an after-school program in a rougher part of a major city. Spend 2.5-5 hours a week volunteering here. It is with a primarily minority population (Arabic, African-American, Somalian). We provide food not only for the children but the families as well, as well as books and other programs).
3. ~20 hours at a place that makes meals and delivers them for people with ailments that don't allow them to get out much.

Clinical volunteering: None, I figure my clinical experience should offset this.

Research: 120 Hours, presented virtually for a symposium.

Shadowing: 24 hours in the ER from 4 years ago. 30 hours shadowing a Family Medicine doc at his clinic (a private practice not sure if that matters) in the past year.

Leadership/Other things: Student association At-Large representative, and on the Health&Wellness committee through that. Eagle Scout. Literacy tutor freshman year at the same place I now volunteer at above. Human physiology TA for 1.5 years.

Hey Faha, I've added all of these schools. Are there any others you think would be worth adding? Like other private MDs / good DOs or not? Let me know! Thanks so much!
