If you want to stay on the East Coast, you should be able to pick where you want to go with your metrics. All your in-states should be in play, and you can shop to other programs along the east coast. So I ask, where are your Philly schools? I just see Penn. I don't get Vandy, UVa, or Vermont on your list. Pick the cities where you want to serve in emergency medicine if that is what you want to do. Do your networking with your in-state schools to determine whether they will believe someone with your metrics really wants to go to their program. Where's Rochester and Buffalo?

More hours with your food pantry work by submission will help you. 250 hours ought to do it, but it's on the lower end for most applicants going for "brand name" schools.

Thank you very much for your time and feedback. I definitely overlooked philly schools you are right. Vandy, uva, and vermont I chose because they are semi-close and seem nice but you are right I should think more about where I actually want to serve. similar idea for Buffalo and Rochester. Thanks for the advice, I truly appreciate it.

Looking for any advice on my app/applications in general, as well as my school list.

My app has been centered on EMS and teaching. I hope to build my narrative around this combination of my passion for medicine + teaching, something I hope to continue in medical school and as a physician.

My food pantry hours are projected between now and submission as I just recently started the position. Will the combination of food pantry and CPR instructor be enough to get me over the 250 mark for non-clinical volunteering?

From my experience this cycle with a very similar application and stats, I would recommend picking only 3-5 mid/low tier schools where you have great mission fit and applying to exclusively T20 schools/in-state/stat-heavy schools otherwise. I've exclusively received T20 interviews + UVA so far. I haven't even heard from my state school despite being a lifelong resident and having significant volunteer work across the state. Here are all of the schools I would consider in your position. Trim down to the ones you find best!
