Hi everyone! Just received my MCAT score today and feel completely deflated. Was hoping to find out how realistic applying this cycle is going to be. Was planning on applying to all the MDs in my state but now know that is unrealistic so hoping to just focus on DOs this cycle unless there’s 1 or 2 MDs I could have any tiny slim chance at. Thanks for any advice, it’s been a rough day after getting my score so all is appreciated.

Traditional Applicant
(going into my Senior year of undergrad)

GPA

3.52 GPA; should be up to 3.6 by end of summer but I plan on applying by end of June so not sure if classes I’m taking now will count?

Thank you again! I’m really interested in OBGYN and just women’s health in general. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also, my dad went to NYIT and I really love it, so hearing if I even have any chance would be great. Really wish my MCAT didn’t turn out this way but it is what it is. I was taking max credit course including physics and biochem, all while working & extracurriculars when trying to study for it so please don’t be too mean.

You could receive interviews at some DO schools with a MCAT of 497 and I suggest all these:
BCOM (both schools)
OCOM
LECOM (all schools-may be a 2nd one in Florida)
LMU-DCOM (all schools)
PCOM (all schools)
ACOM
WCU-COM
VCOM (all schools)
UIWSOM
TUNCOM
WVSOM
UP-KYCOM
MU-COM
DUQCOM
ILLINOIS-COM (new school)
KHSC-COM
NOORDA-COM
BUCOM
ARCOM
NYIT-AR
Many of these schools have MCAT medians in the 498 to 502 range so you should receive interviews. Let us know a year from now how your application cycle works out.
