    1. Summer Research internship at Georgetown University School of Med
    2. Neuroscience research and honors thesis written at my university (1600 hrs, 3 years)
    3. Honors biology lab research (270 hrs, 1 year). Resulted in a poster presentation and one of my publications
  7. Shadowing: 200 hours in a variety of specialities
  8. Non-clinical volunteering:
    1. Volunteered with homeless kids at emergency shelter (3 years, 320 hrs)
    2. Community service coordinator for African students organization (250 hrs)

  • Peer Tutor for bio students at my uni (one year, 600 hrs)

*** I feel like I have a decent mix of safety, target, and reach but would appreciate more suggestions of target/ safety schools. I’m also open to more reach schools suggestions if I have a decent chance of getting in holistically.

Thank you so much! Would you recommend that I apply to any DO schools? Or I should be fine for MD?
 
Great job. I think you have a strong shot at MD. I'm presuming you are networking with SNMA and other mentoring organizations for Black women physicians. I would be very surprised if the HBCU MD schools stay silent without an II.
