  1. 2021 grad - cGPA: 3.67 sGPA: 3.37; MPH cGPA 3.93 sGPA 3.73 (~18 credits of grad BPCM)
  2. MCAT: 512 (129/128/128/127)
  3. State of residence: Prefer not to say; will apply to all state schools though
  4. Ethnicity: AA male
  5. Undergraduate institution: Top 10 private
  6. Clinical experience
    1. 60 hours as a volunteer at a clinic in my parents’ home country
    2. Just started as a hospital volunteer so hopefully 150+ hours by app time
  7. Research experience and productivity
    1. 500 hours in cardiology lab (1 poster pres)
    2. 200 hours clinical research with elderly patients
    3. 200 hours in social determinants of health research (hopefully 1 pub)
    4. 120+ hours in computational research (hopefully 1 pub and/or pres)
  8. Shadowing experience and specialties represented
    1. 70 hours across pediatrics, geriatrics, neuro, rheumatology
  9. Non-clinical volunteering
    1. 300 hours a volunteer for global health non-profit
    2. 100 hours as middle and high school science fair project screener
    3. 75 hours tutoring low-income, low-performing ESL students (I’m proficient but not completely fluent in Spanish)
    4. 70 hours skill building and job training high school students with disabilities
  10. Other extracurricular activities
    1. 2000+ hours as a current software dev in health tech (working cross functionally with lots of physicians)
    2. 800 hours in past internships across healthcare consulting, payers, pharma
  11. Relevant honors or awards
    1. Recipient of prestigious scholarship
  12. Anything else not listed you think might be important
    1. First-gen low-income; no family in medicine
    2. Decent LOR’s, not amazing
    3. Potentially unique story about professional/research experiences across the entire healthcare landscape and personal commitment to primary care and our aging population
    4. I’ll be applying 2022-2023 because I need to continue my current job in order to provide my parents with a solid financial base before starting med school

I need help developing a school list. I’m unsure where I sit relative to top 30 schools. I’m pretty worried about my sGPA as a limiting factor and I know there’s not much I can do about it at this point. I know beefing up clinical volunteering will be vital but should I also consider retaking the MCAT in 2022? Again, please do not quote this. Thank you.
