Need some extra help adding to my school list for this cycle, please. going to apply early this summer now that apps are open

3.2 GPA, 506 MCAT. gpa is lowered mainly from a D and F but i retook both for a B+ and a P (pass was during covid P/F grades)
ORM
exercise science major
300+ clinical hours in cardiopulmonary rehab, with LOR from preceptor
50+ hours shadowing DO and MD surgeons, with LOR from each
D2 college athlete
crossfit coach and personal trainer for 2 years
lots of volunteer hours from college, 200+ or so
lots of physicians in my family. not looking for legacy help, just goes to show i have an understanding of the career on an intimate level.
no research but will start a research assistant job at a med school in august this year while applying.

with my stats i realize best chance is DO, maybe 2-3 lower tier MD schools but any help is appreciated. undergrad in florida, live in NC now so will apply to some MD state schools in those states

so far i have:
Alabama COM
Campbell UCOM
Edward Via - all
Liberty UCOM
Nova
PCOM
Lake Erie- Bradenton
Kansas City UCOM
Michigan State UCOM
Chicago COM
Arizona COM
Touro- NY
brody
UCF

thank you
good list. I personally would replace AZCOM and CCOM with another school since I do not believe they are worth the price tag, but that is a personal preference I know they are good schools. I would think of adding 1 or 2 more DO, every year its harder to get in and so I think with average stats I would rather over apply then not get in.

definitely going to over apply. ill look into ccom and azcom tuition and match/pass rates since you mentioned it. i also added
Arkansas COM
William Carey COM
Lincoln Memorial- Debusk
Univ Pikeville COM
WVU COM
Rowan
thnks for the help!
I like what you added. And yeah 100% personal preference of AZCOM its a great school, I have family that graduated from there just not worth the $$$.

List looks good but:

I would remove UCF. From speaking with their admissions council your volunteering is too low for them. The lack of volunteering hours paired with the fact that their average MCAT is a 513 and the average GPA is a 3.7, I think it would be a waste of money to apply.

Add
WCU
KYCOM
MUCOM
ALL LECOMs
KCOM

I can't recommend Nova or LUCOM

over 200 hours is low? never would have thought. only added it because its "lower" tier compared to some of the other state schools (UF, Miami) from my home state. but fair enough thank you for the input
I am also a Florida native and live like 30 minutes from UCF and they were high up on my list. An email I received from admissions told me a majority of their applicants have thousands of hours of volunteering (may or may not be true). I guess if you have a decent amount more of volunteer hours you could apply.

Worth a shot I guess. Goodluck!

I will add those, thanks. and are you not recommending liberty and nova based on pass rates or another reason? I noticed both have pretty low complex 1 pass rates

Nova has been going downhill since the transition to the new dean a few years back.
Some of my close friends are involved with the administration there and it is a **** show. These may not be goro's reasons but throwing it out there.
