  1. I really don’t know what to do, I will only be applying to MD schools this cycle and have ties to Northern California so I will be applying to UC Davis and California Northstate University. Really need help building my school list up to 20-25 MD schools.
  2. List so far: *Note, I calculated the chance of any of these schools from data and z-scores tell me from the accepted pool of applicants, there are 1-2% of matriculants who have a MCAT score less than mine of 506. While I acknowledge that schools from Keck onwards are reaches, all I need is one acceptance to stay in California thus why I included these schools.🙂
That is your choice to not include DO schools (including the CA ones), but you will have to be comfortable with the chance you will have to reapply. Students with your stats had a roughly 45% chance of acceptance to an MD school, and many of these were likely heavily mission fit to schools or were residents of "lucky" states like in the Midwest or South. California is the most competitive state and the 1% of applicants you are referring to (if even that, a z-score cannot be used in the manner you have done) likely had exceptional circumstances and brought skills needed in the local area (such as ability to speak Spanish fluently).

Cal Northstate has accreditation problems and should be avoided. UCR is meant for applicants from the IE.

You could try:
UCD
CUSM
Rosalind Franklin
Drexel
Temple
Oakland
Wayne State
Nova MD
Belmont (when it opens)
NYMC
Albany
MCW
Loyola
Tulane
TCU

You can always decline a DO acceptance if you get into MD this year. I would suggest:

Western
Touro CA
Touro NV
PNWU
KCU
PCOM
DMU
NYITCOM

Here is a more realistic list with your stats:
UC Davis
UC Irvine
California University
TCU
Creighton
Rosalind Franklin
Loyola
Medical College Wisconsin
Oakland Beaumont
NOVA MD
Wake Forest
Virginia Commonwealth
Eastern Virginia
Penn State
Drexel
Temple
Hackensack
New York Medical College
Albany
Vermont
Quinnipiac
Belmont (when it opens)

I'm looking at MSAR right now and 10th percentile MCAT for several schools on this list including Hackensack and New York Medical School is 511. Is it still worth applying here?
If you are unwilling to apply to DO schools then you need to apply broadly to MD schools. Hackensack and New York Medical are more realistic than UC Davis or UC Irvine.
