the issue is your school list
you have 3 of the 10 or so most difficult to get into schools in the country
and USC and tufts, where you are very likely are going to suffer from yield management

you still have lots of time, uop and usc just recently sent out their first round of invites, and ucla and ucsf have not sent out yet
you need to be patient and trust the process

i don't understand why you have not participated in any events at or with dental schools
there are now 3 dental schools in the bay area (yes, i know uop undergrad is in stockton)
uop undergrad did not have a predental club that had speakers/events with d schools?

Hi macsak!
Thanks for reviewing my thread! Yes, I do realized the issue with my school list. Reasons behind that 1. I want to stay in Cali DESPERATELY 2. I couldn't really think of other schools that I really want to go to... For events associated with dental schools, it is limited since I didn't have a car in college. Updated ones: Predental club at UoP with many Dugoni related events (Dugoni discovery day, speakers from dugoni board of admissions, alumni speakers...).

is there anything else you left out?

you do know that tufts is not in CA, right?

why would you apply to tufts and not also include BU?

have you met with stan previously to ask him how to best position yourself for admission to d school?

Not that I can think of.
Yes, I'm aware 🙂

My orthodontist is from tufts, and I applied there per recommendation.
Yes, I've definitely talked with Stan before, but I not sure if I made a lasting impression.

there are at least 3 other schools in california that you have not applied to...

stan really loves local kids, of course
he wants you to be successful at getting an acceptance to any d school...

I would have expanded more within the region to the other California schools (Western) and added UNLV and the Arizona schools. Maybe Roseman and Utah. But because the school calendar is generally later in California, you hopefully will get something soon. To me, your volunteering is a little light (around 100, which is a minimum threshold). Distance traveled may be key.
