I have a license in VA, I vote by mail in VA, and I file my taxes in VA, so I'm pretty sure I'm a resident of VA. I added that I'm an ORM if you mean URM.

Thanks! I was asking because in the title you said you were a MI resident! I think you can include the research you did after HS graduation! Do you have the MSAR? If not buy it and use it to research schools. Good luck! Are you applying this cycle or next cycle?

Next cycle (so I can attend med school right after I graduate) - I don't want to take gap years if I don't have to lol. I'm getting MSAR in the near future, but I'd also love to hear some of the advice of the SDN community!

I'll chip in and say it won't if you are applying for most medical schools, but if you intend to apply MD/PhD, it could.

Yeah, I kind of expected to have more done by now...
That's why I'm not applying MD/PhD (although I may apply to only CMU/Pitt just because I love it so much and bc my PI graduated from CMU/has published multiple papers with multiple profs in my desired department- but I doubt it'll make a difference just bc of the insane competition).
