I’m a NY resident and wants to stay in NY or near NY. Can I have some suggestions on which medical school I should include in my list? I’m applying to both DO and MD. THANK YOU!

MCAT scores:
507 (126/126/128/127)
509 (129/124/127/129)

State of residence: NY
Country of citizen: US

Ethnicity: Asian

Undergraduate institution: state university

Clinical experience:
Medical assistant: 2400 hours
Medical receptionist: 2100 hours
Volunteer phlebotomist: 130 hours

Research experience:
1. 72 hours (published a paper in student-edited journal)
2. 35 hours - present

Shadowing experience:
Pain management: 260
PCP: 50

Non-clinical experience:
Botanical garden volunteer: 35 hours

Extracurricular:
UGTA experience: 420 hours (4 semesters)

Phi beta kappa

You had me up until this.

Where is your service to your community? From your list you want to stay around the Tri-State (why no Upstate schools??), so you should have at least 150-250 hours of some community service (community garden, homeless/refugee shelters, food distribution) before applying just to stay on par with so many other applicants to the NYC schools (or other med schools for that matter). Your activities say "academics" to me, as if your should go for a teaching career.
