I'm interested in pediatric oncology, but also going in with an open mind.
I really liked WashU on my interview day, the impending curriculum change has me sussed out. Especially now that second look weekends have been canceled, I was looking for some outside input.
Other info: I'm a Texas resident, and the COA will be roughly the same.
Wash U
Pros
-Slightly higher prestige
-Half-tuition scholarship (makes prices roughly equivalent)
-Vibed with the faculty+admins
-impressed by the hospital system
-Summers (+1st year summer research program)
Cons
-Curriculum change
-I'm meh on St.Louis, don't hate it but not excited about it
-cold
Baylor
Pros
-the Med center is awesome
-Close to family
-Family friends are Baylor physicians (networking?)
-established curriculum
Cons
-Slightly less prestige
-no protected research time
-didn't vibe quite as much, but still had a good experience
