I suggest that those of you in Wash State send your Governor a thank you email showing your support, regardless of your political affiliation. Otherwise, it would be real easy for her to let it lapse when the heat dies down. Hold their feet to the fire on this. We'll see where it goes. This is by no means the end to this battle.

"pending the outcome of budget negotiations under way in the state Legislature."

You're right in saying that this is by no means the end to this battle. Remember that the medicaid patient, not the physician (or for that matter, the hospital administrator) are the constituents that keep Democrats in control of the political machine in Washington. While limiting visits for Medicaid patients may not be part of future plans for reducing Medicaid expenses, something else that isn't shouldered by their constituence will be.

Agreed👍

There's an easy solution for the Washington politicians. Make a $10 flat payment to providers for all Medicare visits. Then mandate, as a condition of licensure as a physician in the state, you have to participate in the Medicaid program and cannot turn those patients away.

Problem solved, constituents happy, physicians screwed.

The question is, what is the solution for physicians?

There isn't one. You seriously think anyone in the public sector, any politicians, or the media care about rich, greedy physicians? Whatever solution is reached it will more than likely be bad for physicians. And we will suck it up and keep doing our jobs, because as a group of people we are *******.
