Just because a decision hasn't been made doesn't mean your file wasn't brought up. I called the school to find out whether I had been accepted (I am away from my AMCAS contact address until tomorrow) and they told me the committee just hadn't decided yet. I took that to mean I wasn't accepted right off the bat and will probably end up on a waitlist.

OK - I just got a pick up slip for next day parcel from Wash U. I was out for 1 hour and they didn't leave it. The post office won't re-deliver till Monday.

Does Wash U send out rejections as well after meetings, or just acceptances? I'm going crazy here.

Wash U was one of the last schools I decided on applying to, thus I applied on their last day (AMCAS). Then, there was a mix up with my 2ndary fee, somehow they didnt get it so I resent it. THus, my app wasnt marked complete until mid december. Any know how bad this hurts my chances?

IE, I have an interview at UM late Jan; I know a lot of their class is getting filled up and having an interview in late Jan for UM does hurt you somewhat. But I know at OSU, early Jan used to be when they STARTED sending out invites (used to be= last year, this year they changed somewhat).

I don't want to get ahead of myself until I actually get the package monday, (and if it says I'm on the wait list or is some sort of request for more info, laugh away at me). In either case, it looks like they at least looked at my package this week, so midwest was out there. Why can't the post office deliver on Sunday for express mail. rrrrrrrrrrrrr

And I thought I was the calm, collected older pre-med. I guess there is a little neurotic pre-med in all of us.

I was at Wash U this week for an interview. They told us a lot about the process:

They have already offered about 120/250 acceptances they plan to give by April 15. They are also about half way through the 1300 interviews they plan to give. They are still in the "high priority" interview catagory (there are three catagories that you can get put into, high, med, and low). The next complete adcom meeting is next Thursday, and then once per month until mid April, when the majority of decisions will be sent. They may squeeze in another in in late Jan/early Feb to address some women candidates for the Feb Olin scholarship application deadline. The regional thing is by undergrad school, unless you are from Canada (West committee), or if your committee doesn't have anyone to interview you on your day, you will get permanently moved to another sub-committee.

80% of the MS1's there do research, so obviously that is important to them.

canada is in the west committee?? i interviewed theree nov 29th and have heard zip...........maybe the 20th will bring some news........god i hate this! but at least they still have spots left, st. louis wasnt that bad.........better than cleveland in my opinion. good luck everyone!

Same here -- haven't heard anything (complete since late Oct) so I had started to write Wash U off, but maybe there's still hope...

i wish they would consider me. in fact, i was one of those crazy people who wanted to stay in the midwest--not someone who has to be lured from the coasts by scholarships and a lofty USNews ranking. i've been complete since august though, so i'm still not holding my breath... 🙄

No. usually they need at least two weeks between the interview and the full adcom meeting for it to be reviewed in the subcommittees first.
