Got my waitlist letter today...says 50+ off the waitlist are generally taken per year, but anyone have any idea how big the Wash U waitlist is and whether it is ranked?

Waitlisted today, too. According to others who have called, the list is unranked. Not sure how big it .

I don't know how big the waitlist is, but last year's entering class was 122. So those who are waitlisted make up a significant fraction of the class.

Got my waitlist too...
Tired of waiting...

waitlisted too.

Something does not make sense, how can they take 50 from waitlist. It is a big fraction of their class (40-45%), which makes it more unbelievable.

Do they only offer 122 acceptances or offer more than their class size?

Applied/Interviewed/Accepted/Enrolled= 2,998/1,085/337/122

These are from usnews. Someone else said ~50 get pulled off the waitlist.

according to waitlist letter from dr. dodson, 50 are accepted from waitlist

40-45% makes sense to me. I mean, truthfully, WashU is a numbers-heavy school. Those who were accepted at WashU most likely have gotten acceptances from other top schools, and I'm sure some of them prefer another school due to location or other reason. I know many people who rejected WashU just because they didn't want to stay in the Midwest.

Btw, those who didn't get a waitlist letter yet, don't worry. I somehow got mine later than everybody else, even though i live like 5 hours away from St. Louis. They're obviously not sending them all out at the same time. I don't think they're rejecting that many people either.

anyone have any idea how big the waitlist is? get any indication from the admissions department?

Also... Dean Dodson, if you're reading this... feel free to pose as an applicant and post some insider info for all us eager beavers here 🙂.

WL in nyc the other day. I think the list is very long. Best of luck to everyone.

I still have heard nothing from them yet, but I interviewed during the very last week of interviews. So for sure they aren't sending any more straight up acceptances? 🙁

that's quite a few.

Hey, did everyone get their criminal background check form mailed? Wow, I sure didn't think they were going to do that! Guess it's supposed to happen everywhere soon enough. Hope nobody's in trouble.
