I saw the acceptances list and noticed nobody has been accepted to WashU yet . . . have they even handed out acceptances??? I remember them telling us they'd start letting people know by Nov 3. This is starting to make me pretty nervous.

Nov 3? At my interview, the person said late November and very few applicants in late November at that. Doesn't make much sense to worry before seeing a thin envelope in the mailbox. It's conceivable that some people who've interviewed in the past couple weeks will be accepted as late as March

Hmmm, when did you interview? I remember them saying that they pretty much inform applicants as they accept them and that the committee meeting was Nov 3.

I called yesterday...they said the committee has not even started to meet yet...at earliest end of Nov and can be anywhere up unitl April 1

I personally wouldn't get too worried about WashU's decisions, since they never really give you a negative decision. They will only reject you if it was readily apparent you wouldn't fit in (which is few from what I was told). Either you get an acceptance, or you are sent back to the applicant pool for the next meeting. You will be in limbo until early April if you are not accepted, when they send out their waitlist letters, which is almost to everybody. There is somewhat of a separation in the waitlist letters, those who are "thrivers" (who are predominantly accepted off the waitlist, at least from the polling from here at SDN... but it seems many candidates get this letter), or non-thrivers.

So I wouldn't worry yet, its a long way until April and waitlist movement in May. They'll call you for good news, but they never really tell you they aren't interested in you (outside of the hint that they didn't offer you an acceptance after their meetings). It kind of sucked not knowing where you stood, beyond the waitlist "hint" they gave me in April.

Haha. Now it's going to suck for anyone who does get rejected.

With ABJ above. I work at Wash U and my boss is on the admissions committee and I know for a fact that they haven't met yet nor will until late November at the earliest. I'm also a re-applicant from last year and know first-hand that Wash U sends out very few acceptances before like mid March. I also agree on the waitlist comments. Very few people get rejected. If you get an interview and your MCAT score is really high, you have a chance of getting accepted. If you get an interview and your MCAT score is merely normal, your best case is probably the "thriver" waitlist. More people tend to get off that list, although I didn't last year. You may not believe me about the huge emphasis on the MCAT, but having looked through my boss' interview guide (that he was given), last year Wash U's average interviewed MCAT was 30.1 and their average accepted MCAT was 37.8 or so. You do the math. Hope this helps.

I interviewed in Mid-Oct and was told that the committee won't meet before the end of Nov, so the earliest possible notification date would be shortly after that (late Nov or early Dec) with most people not hearing at that point.
