hi everyone! i'm interviewing for sea cohort soon and was wondering how your experience may have been? if you have any tips on preparation, the panel interview style, and certain things to keep in mind, i'd greatly appreciate it!!

For Spokane campus, how are they planning to make firm decisions (accept, reject, waitlist) and not do SUC list if there are interviews in Jan? i believe they said we would have decisions by end of next week so that would be before everyone interviews.
I am not certain, but your reasoning is sound. They make "final" decisions at the end of January and form the alternate list, so it makes sense that they might send Jan decisions at that point.

edit: I don't know of anyone who has been accepted to the Spokane campus at this moment in time, maybe there are some!

Out of curiosity, has anyone applied without a physician LOR? Is this something that’s important for UW?

I don’t think physician LOR’s are required! The UWSOM admissions website has a bunch of great resources and are pretty lenient when it comes to requirements.

Out of curiosity for those of you that have interviewed for Seattle, do you hear back the same Friday of the interview when the EXCOM meets?

I think you do if you were accepted ??? Unsure LOL as that was not the case for me. I heard back about a week and a half after I interviewed and was put on SUC! I agree with stew_md in that I think it depends when the EXCOM meeting is.... hopefully we get a positive update soon!! Manifesting Christmas As for everyone on here <3

Great to hear. My interview was this week. I hope to hear back this week or next. The wait is going to kill me. Especially since I felt like the EXCOM member was so quiet and neutral the entire time.

They are trained to be neutral; this is not a negative. You have a good shot if you have an overall good interview performance! My guess is that you hear back before the new year.

soooooo....... do we think we'll get the next update on monday?? LOL

There are two interview weeks back to back so might not hear anything until closer to Christmas. I hope I’m wrong but there is not a week break like there has been up till now.

The EXCOM meetings are every Friday I believe. In addition, I think with the holidays coming up, they are going to try to whittle down or rank candidates quickly.

I bet some of us will hear back today.

Did anyone go to the Seattle student zoom hang-out. If so, did y'all learn anything about student life / general vibes of UW?

Darn, I was hoping that we would hear back today but I haven't heard anything. Anyone else? I guess the EXCOM meeting did not happen today.

Logically I knew that we wouldn't hear back this week (I'm guessing the Monday after next at the earliest, given the fact that there are two consecutive interview weeks, and my EXCOM did say it might be a while because they have to "finish all the interviews"...just don't know if she was talking about this week's interviews or all of them) but goddammit, I still got my hopes up for no reason. Literally going bonkers waiting lol.

On another note, I found a random thread from like 2005 saying that usually 10% of post-II applicants get accepted, 10% rejected, and 80% get put in the "competitive pool" or whatever. Anyone know if there's any truth to that?

I'm lowkey hopeful we'll hear something late in the upcoming week - last year they did a huge wave of decisions (A, post II R, SUC) around Dec 22... but maybe I'm just getting my hopes up for no reason LOL. Silence is better than a R I guess!!

Hmm I thought they met every week and sent out some kind of updates like Accepted/SUC/Rejected. But you are right, next week is also an interview week so it's doubtful they'll send something out early in the week. I suppose the earliest we can hope for it next Friday.

Seriously. They must have met the last few Fridays. I wonder why they didn’t send us an update 🙁

So are we just going to have to wait till mid January?

Someone should take one for the team and call them lol

Would have been nice to hear something today but it is the holidays after all.

SUC, What a fun Christmas gift lol

I am confused why nobody is reporting acceptances ?
I have this theory that people that don’t report acceptances aren’t that hyped about getting in, which in my delusional mind, means more spots for the rest of us who are SUCing.

Okay, this is probably a silly question, but I will be honest that I haven't spent a ton of time on SDN...Can someone explain what SUC vs waitlist is; and if there are stats on how many people are accepted once being told they are SUC? thanks!

My theory is that they didn't accept anyone off the past two weeks of interviews (maybe <5 or something at most) since there is only one more interview round for the Seattle cohort left in less than 2 weeks. Why not just interview them before making decisions on admissions?

I have been wrong so many times on this thread but my prediction is that the last interviews for Seattle will happen on Jan 2-3 (as stated on their website) and then EXCOM will meet for Seattle cohort to review all the applicants still under consideration and send out decisions the following week before moving onto deliberating on applicants for/from WY, WA-Spokane, etc.

SUC is Still Under Consideration. You are still in the running and they have not made a decision on the application yet. Waitlist is that you are put on a list that they will look at if people from the accepted pool turns down their acceptance. SUC means that you can be accepted instead of waitlisted or even rejected.

I don't know about stats but apparently majority of the class for UW-Seattle comes from being SUC and notified in January/February (from what I hear from students). Very few people get accepted right after their interview.

I was dying of anticipation to see if I would get accepted after my interview but now, I'm just good waiting until January/February. Whatever happens happens. :/

Also SUC happens if your EXCOM member was absent during review… it’s the holidays, sooooo
