Hi everyone,
I was just accepted into a summer program at the Washington University in St. Louis. Here is a link to the program: http://publichealth.wustl.edu/degrees/Pages/Summer-Research-Program.aspx
I am completely new to the world of public health so I was hoping for some advice about
a) The reputation of WUSL
b) How a program like this would look on a resume for the specific type of work I want to go into
Eventually I hope to get an MPH, and I want to go into policy work. I'd like to work for a patient safety or quality improvement organization. I enjoy performing secondary research (like literature reviews and that sort of thing) far more than primary research. I especially enjoy advocacy work and translating academic papers into fact sheets and that sort of thing so that regular folks can understand research findings. I'm also very interested / dedicated to researching health inequity and solutions.
Based on that information, do you think that this program is a good fit for me? Something that will matter to future employers and/or get me into grad school? Thanks so much!
