Wasting my summer

I feel like this summer is really slipping away from me. There really isn't much I can do this summer that is pharmacy related, and that really was my goal. I am taking the PCAT in July, I am applying to schools whenever that stuff opens up, and I hope to take an online stats course, but aside from that I will be getting 0 actual pharmacy experience. I've tried all of the local pharmacies, both as a pharm tech and as a volunteer, and no one will even let me work for free! I've searched and applied for internships all over my area to no avail, and I just feel like this summer is slipping away from me. Help 😕 Is there anything I can do to salvage this summer?

Check to see if you have a military hospital near your location. They allow volunteers to work at the outpatient pharmacy or one of their satellite pharmacies.

Oh really?! I am going to have to check into that. I think I want to eventually end up as a Navy pharmacist, so that would be perfect! The military hospital isn't all that nearby, but I will definitely check into it.


Followup: Just in case anyone happens to stumble upon this thread in the future, I was unable to find anything. I actually come from a Navy area, and both Naval hospitals had no volunteering or job shadowing opportunities.

Just volunteer under other health professions. As long as they see your committed to the health field as think that is almost as good as getting real pharm xp.

There are always short term accommodations in the neighborhood that will be worth the extended stay for this purpose.
