Its so easy. Not worth worrying about. The interview part will go by so quickly, you won't believe it. You'll want to keep talking to them, and you'll have to leave. And the writing part was easy. Just a simply situation
 
Interview done 🙂 I feel like i was exactly what they want when it came to interviews. I'm just worried when it comes to GPA and PCAT .... i have lots of extracurriculars and healthcare experience too...

hey how long did it take to find out like you guys interviewed on a Tuesday and knew by Thursday or Friday?

i have 3.52 overall my sciences are 3.34 🙁 and my pcat was a 72 but it was the math that brought it down I had 89 in bio and 85 in chem....but my grades for math are A for precalc and B- for calc...so maybe that will make up for it? i'm hoping so 🙁

Oh that's why you were worried when I got deferred maybe your overall GPA helps and sounds like you did great on the interview

Wayne doesnt care about overall or science GPAs. They base their decisions off the pre-req GPA entirely. My pre-req GPA was 3.3

Don't they just look at what pharmcas calculated or do they just calculate the pre-reqs needed for wayne?

When I asked Tamra, she said that they look at the cumulative avg to make sure that you meet the B minimum (which would get your consideration for an interview). From there, they only consider the pharmcas grades for all the pre-req courses. So science/math GPAs don't mean anything
 
Just finished my interview! Oh man I have to say this is probably the best school by far in terms of interviews and how easy they make you feel. I was asked only one question, why you want to be pharmacist. The rest of the time they were just telling me about their research and what they do and I started to ask questions while they were explaining, and they kept going on and on. I could not believe it that I only got asked one question. Good luck to the rest of you!

Lol it seems like they really don't care about the questions that's how I felt what are your stats btw if you don't mind me asking?
 
I wouldn't call it an interview lol more like a friendly conversation. Just can't wait until I hear back from them!

It is crazy how different it is compared to other schools, that drill question after another. I have 3.93 gpa with 89 PCAT. How about you? Did you already get in or interviewed?

I was actually deferred until they see more applicants but am pretty sure you will get in with those stats!
 
I felt a bit iffy about the interview. I felt really nervous and I felt like I was redundant at times. I really hope this doesn't ruin my chances.
 
I finished my interview this afternoon. It was really welcoming and I really enjoyed talking to my interviewers! The time went by quickly and I actually wish I would have had more time to talk to them. To anyone that has an interview coming up, don't stress! They're very nice and just want to know who you are. And remember to ask them questions too so it shows you're interested 🙂 The writing portion wasn't bad either. It was just an ethical question, so there is no right or wrong answer. It just asks how you would approach a situation.
 
Hello, I was wondering. I have an interview on December 4. My overall GPA is 3.75 and my science GPA is 3.71. My PCAT was not so good, 64th percentile. What are my chances of getting into Wayne State Pharmacy School? I have worked in a pharmacy, done research for the WSU Medical School and have volunteered in a hospital as a Patient Care Aid as well.

You seem pretty well-rounded. Earlier this year when I first started thinking about pharmacy school I spoke to Tamra, and she told me that a 70th percentile would put applicants at a competitive edge. You're not far off from that at all and your GPA and ECs sound good. I think that you have a good chance.

What sucks is I had already asked my friends at the pharmacy school any questions I had before hand and anything else I dident know I would ask here so by the time for my interview all my answers were answered and it was a big mistake even told the group leader that lol I threw in a random question just for the hell of it which took her 5 min to answer for some reason lol. To be honest I though having questions would mean you know nothing about the school and by not asking it would seem you have already done your research and know what's up but I guess they take it in a different way?????

Thank You, I do hope you are right! Wayne is my only choice for pharmacy school and I hope I get in!

They should be getting something today. I emailed Tamra regarding are deferral and whether or not we may get an answer before all interviews are done. I'll let you know what she says..

I haven't! I work at CVS with an intern that goes to Wayne's pharmacy school and he said that Tamra told him that we should know within a week. Hopefully soon! I keep checking my email haha

Lol I was told exactly 3:50pm on thurday which is Wednesday for you guys but you never know how long it would take and depends whether or not it's the morning or afternoon...

The wait is killing me too! I just got resent the old email about my interview information. I guess they're having technical difficulties.. I thought it was it for a second!
 
I'm so nervous! I have a class 3:30-5:30. Hopefully I can sneak a few email checks 😏 I'm dying to know.
 
For those that got a deferral like me this is what Tamra told me
"Deferred students may be accepted any time throughout the cycle. If a seat is being offered to them, they will be contacted immediately."

We should get a notice either today or tomorrow but the people who interviewed on October 28 found out two days later, I hope its the same for the November interviewers.
 
I had the afternoon session from the last interview date. I am so nervous to check my email I have been checking it literally every 20 minutes every day lol. I hope we all get accepted all of you guys have great stats!
 
Lol but it seems so hard once your in all that information at once makes the pre-reqs look like a game lol

Honestly, it won't be so bad. I had human phys this semester and my friend she's like this is the point in your education where you start building on what you already know. Which is so true like my human phys is literally adding to my knowledge of my A and P stuff that i knew. So i'm not even afraid of Pharm School i'm more afraid of rejection and spiders...my mom said i can get a cat to eat my spiders if i have to move to Chicago

i've been checking it every 5mins since i left my interview...even though i know i won't get an e-mail at 2am lol
 
There is no doubt pharmacy school will be a challenge, as any grad school program will be. At the interview I was actually asked about my study habits. I told them that I try to discipline myself to study everyday. I think they asked this because since pharmacy school will be a very big workload per semester, they want to see if you are the type of student who will be dedicated to always study, rather than studying a few days for the exam. In undergrad, you may be able to get away with studying a few days for an exam and do good. But in pharmacy school, I highly doubt you will ever be able to get away with doing that and still do good. This is a very big step up in our education no doubt, but when you study any part of the medical field, it is always going to be challenging. We need to be challenged because if everything is just handed to us easy in grad school, whats the benefit? Did we truly learn anything?
 
I submitted by app kind of late, October 22nd. They received my app on November 3. I already got an interview offer from my second option, but I'm dying for an email from wayne! UGH!
 
I have a flight to Florida for an interview with Nova tomorrow and I'm so upset that I won't be able to check my email on the flight.. haha!

I think t-mobile actually offers some kind of service on flights now like texts or something lol have someone like text you and let you know if they got an email and maybe have someone close to you check yours
