I am a first year student at Wayne and they gave us the statistics for the 2007 cycle to tell the students when we give tours.

Matriculants: 302

60% male 40% female

Yeah, I went to both U of M and MSU, and I think my classes were about the same size...if anything, us MSU alums are UNDERrepresented for how many of us there are!!

There are a ton of pre-meds at MSU. Its incredible how many people or in organic chem, or even bio chem there. Where do all the spartans go? My bet is they stay at state, 2 schools for the price of one

What year did you graduate from OU?

Frickenhuge is right. You get your interviewer name right before and their specialty. I was able to rag on surgery because my guy was IM. He probably thought I had balls but I knew his specialty going in.

I graduated in 2004, so I am a nontrad applicant so I don't know if I count towards the 4 or not! 😉

I got my official acceptance letter on Monday, and I also did not know who I was being interviewed by until I got there. However, not knowing was fine with me. The doctor I interviewed with was really laid back and made the session all about me and why I want to go to Wayne. There were no tricks, no hard questions at all! Just a relaxing chat.

Yeah your right it didnt put the number of applicants that apply from Wayne State are a lot less than compared to MSU...
MSU students get hooked up because their two medical schools have a preference for them too (MSUCOM and MSUCHM) But freaking UofM screws them over by accepting like onlly couple people...

But yeah im glad i went to MSU over Uofm or Wayne...

Yeah our class is insane. Apparently set 4 records as a class for our Histo/Embryo. Kind of ruins your standard score when you are compared with these bums. 😛

Closet gunners? Who knows. 😉 A lot of people are scoring well so it means something. There are a lot of very nice people, but there are also a lot of people I just don't gel with. Not hate but just don't usually enjoy their company. (Tend to be on the annoying side). Plus, there are so many people with quirks that it just adds a little spice to every lecture or lab.

I called them today and asked if I had been reviewed in December for a January interview. She said I was reviewed this week and that I was put on a hold (possible interview bull****) and to check again in January. I have no idea how the work.

I've called once, and all I got was the possible interview whatnot, but she said I hadnt been reviewed at all yet. I called maybe two weeks ago, and I was complete there back in Sept. It seems like every school I applied to is just refusing to read through my file. Aargh. Maybe I should give it a try tomorrow, call and see if I've been reviewed at all. I hate just waiting to see if my mom calls me with the news that I got something in the mail from Wayne- she knows to be on the lookout, but it reminds me of being five, calling her every few days so I can excitedly ask if anything is there for me...

You got good ECs and a good reason for your grades. As long as your medical problems/surgery doesn't prevents you from practicing medicine, I think you have very good chances. Now just be a good kid and Santa will keep an eye out for ya 😉

Oh yeah, I'm down for some conferencing and kidnapping🙂 And I found the best way to make yourself feel better...my boyfriend went out with his friends tonight, and came home stumbly drunk. He thought it was a good idea to put a bunch of temporary tattoos (Disney princesses, at that) all over his arm sleeve-style. I then nicely offerred to add a few pirate ones to his neck- what can I say, I'm just THAT good of a girlfriend. Dont know how happy he'll be about it tomorrow when he's out running errands for the end of the semester

Kinda has nothing to do with anything, but it made me laugh after getting no love today from Wayne, so I thought it might be some entertainment for someone else. G'night all! Better luck tomorrow!

Hey all,

After some consideration, I'm sending in the letter to decline my acceptance tomorrow, so thats one more spot for you all! I didn't like the course/curriculum structure or the grading, but mostly the 80 grand a year I will pay being international (including tuition + living) is what did it. I just don't think its what I'm looking for.

I called on Friday and they told me I had an interview on Jan. 7th and that invites were being sent out. Anyone else know they are interviewing at Wayne this same day?
