Hey Piyush. You should just call them tomorrow, they should still give you your status. I did this last month actually and they were fine with it. Also, I was accepted off the alt-list.

and congrats to others who got the news they were waiting for today!!! 👍boo i called from work at 430...alternate list 😡 my interviewer was weird bleep...kept asking my mom's age. oh well, i wasnt impressed at my interview except by the extensive hospitals.
anyhow, do they tell you if ur on the "waitlist" (the top % of the alternate list)?
So, did anyone get in??? I'm waiting with crossed fingers for you guys! How about paradocs? Are ya out there, paradocs? 🙂
its all good. congrats again everyone.i am very chill.
GL to all those calling in today.... hope we see a flurry of acceptance posts this afternoon.
I have 3 family members who went to Wayne State for Medical school, does the family connection help at all in getting into Wayne State?
Hi, here is my situation, what are my chances at an Allopathic school with these numbers?
BA History from UCLA ( I graduated June 07')
GPA:3.7
BCPM: 3.5
AO:3.9
MCAT:25S (9PS/7BS/9VR/S)
Languages spoken: English/Spanish
Extracurriculars: 2 years volunteer @ Oncologists office, 1 year phlebotomist, 1 year working as an MA for a Family Practitioner as well as assisting doctor with simple procedures (abscesses, stitch removal, breathing treatments, EKG's, Wound padding, etc...
Please let me know what you all think, I plan to take the MCAT again, I know I can improve the VR and the BS (although I took the Jan 08' MCAT and the Genetics killed me!)
Thanks for the advice ;-)

Everything else looks good.
Thanks for your reply. I'm assuming that you are talking about the MCAT score.Have you heard anything about a possible family connection help, my father and two uncles all went to Wayne State. My father did his Residency/Fellowship in Oncology there, and my Uncles were there for Medical School, Residency, and Fellowship.
I have heard from a couple of doctors that this should help my chances of getting in, any truth to that?
Also, given my stats, what MCAT score do I need in order to be accepted?
Thanks!
NABIL
Congrats Paradocs! I hope we're classmates next year, that would be awesome... The Crew at Scott Hall! btw, you need to give me pointers for the interview.
Mabrook!

😀 Scowdeva, I GOT IN!!! First acceptance. I didn't have time to post the good news. I certainly hope you get the invite soon!
I'm Canadian with a 3.9/31P and really good EC's with good clinical exposure. I'm a reapplicant and my downfall the last cycle was the lack of clinical experiences so I definitely worked to boost that this year. 😀 Getting accepted is difficult as hell but it CAN and WILL happen if you really want it...it's only a matter of time. PERSEVERANCE = success in the medical school admissions process. Just my 2 cents.
And Piyush, please call tomorrow because I really wanna hear of your acceptance soon! 😀

you called today?
Invite here for late March! I better not screw it up. Do you guys know when the call in date is?
Thanks fisko, I can't believe I finally have one!
being a legacy does certainly help. however, because your dad didn't attend the medical school, you may not have as strong of a pull.
you should considering becoming a resident of canada, because apparently that is getting people into wayne...
Yaaaay Paradocs!!! I'm so happy for you! I've given up on Wayne, but I got my invite to MSU so I'm not complaining (would choose MSU over Wayne if given the choice anyways)! I'm still holding out that we both might get into SLU and be classmates...but either way congrats on your first acceptance! Jim would be so proud!!!! 😀
Im sorry, better luck next year!!! Lol![]()
😆 Oh yes, he would.
And I don't know about SLU. My interview was so bad and that joke I cracked with the dean of admissions, that alone will get me a rejection. You were there, you know how awkward that moment was!
Just to fill people in:
During lunch time, the dean of admissions at SLU asked everyone to introduce themselves and say one thing about themselves.
Me: I like to draw and paint. I particularly like to draw cartoons and can draw a cartoon for you if you ask me.
Dean: Oh, you should have a booth and be like one of those on the streets painting for people.
Me: I know, eh? Why did I apply to medicine? *in a JOKING manner of course*
Dean grows silent and moves on to the next person immediately. Some people laughed though.
Im sorry, better luck next year!!! Lol
Nah im sure he didnt think anything of it, and he probably forgot about it.
Oh well. I got my acceptance at Wayne and so I really can't care less about SLU. Staying with scowdeva in the same hotel room was the highlight of that trip!Oh well. Yeah, that was a fun trip! The boy from Hawaii in our interview group at SLU already got an acceptance email from them....so not looking so good for us I guess 🙁 Ah, well, que sara!
(And yes, I know I likely didn't spell that correctly, but what do you want from me??? I'm sick!)
does anyone know if Wayne accepts letters of interest?
im on the alternate list and just wondering if that might help my chances of getting in...
when i called and asked about letters they said they accept them, but that our rank on the alternate list doent change no matter what. i had the same idea that an update may help get me off the altenate list, but apparently not. however she seemed a little rude so maybe she was wrong (they must have different people aswer the phones because in person the admissions staff is very nice).
I withdrew from a march 17th interview this morning (3/3) abt 10am, just letting you all know if you wants to try to reschedule.
