Hi everyone,

I'm applying this cycle but am coming in with a below average GPA. UW is my top choice (I'm from Seattle) and they've advised me to take some classes in the fall to demonstrate my academic improvement. There aren't any high level science courses offered in my area that will fit with my work schedule but the UW advisor also recommended I look into online courses. I've been looking around and was wondering if anyone has taken any online classes such as Genetics or Microbiology through Weber State online? I'd love to hear how your experience was and what you thought of the program.

Also, would it be frowned upon to take a class at Weber and a different one at say, Washington State or CSU? I'm having trouble finding one program that offers all of the classes I'd like to take and was wondering if it matters if I enroll in two different classes from two separate universities. Any feedback would be appreciated!

UW's SoD advisor told you to take online classes or your undergrad advisor??? I've only taken one biology course online from my state university, not genetics or micro, and it was a walk in the park.

I'd be careful with taking online classes. I've heard they're looked down upon. I took an online math course (through Athabasca University in Canada) which was supposed to be EXTREMELY challenging, but the online one was an easy A. I think one or two would be okay, but multiple might not have as great of an impact as classes offered on campus.
